| I created a cool "bot" in Groboto and wanted to take it into another application. I've recently upgraded to Vue Esprit 7 and like the spectral atmospheres it can create and the way it renders. So...here's the result. |
| I'm an IT guy by trade, but a musician and artist at heart. I have no formal artistic training, but constantly seek to learn new tools and methods to express whatever vision comes to mind. I love finding intriguing and inspiring art from others and sharing my praise or constructive feedback. I very much welcome the same from others concerning my work. Tidbits: I'm a classically trained pianist. I'm color-blind. |
I wish I knew how you got Groboto to give you such great art.
But, I'm still learning. You have a natural talent for these.

As far as Groboto, I'd have to say that it's a challenging application to squeeze amazing things out of initially, but I'm tenacious and a bit of a perfectionist...so while I post the ones I like, there are many more that got just plain scrapped after 1-2 hours of playing with them. I just play until something (in my eyes) comes together and then I expand, twist, turn, shrink, color, slide and light until it works for my eye. Sometimes...it never does. Plus, I'm not that impressed with it's backgrounds so I do alphas into Photoshop to fine tune the ones that actually make it through. Also, I'm in the middle of using some of the exported models (.obj files) in other applications like Bryce and Vue.
I appreciate the compliment about natural talent, but like probably you and apomaniac on Apo, I spend SO many hours fiddling with the different settings, that eventually, something half-way decent just HAS to come out! Right?
At least it better!
Still though...I think creating art is just a great way to unwind and use my free time.
Take care Lin,
Mark
